Art of Pranayama is a mindful and gentle approach to well-being through the power of the breath and the healing resonance of the voice.
Born from years of study, travel, and exploration of ancient traditions around the world, Art of Pranayama was conceived to help everyone.
The project was created to help you reconnect with your essence — to find calm, clarity, and authenticity through conscious breathing, presence, and sound.
Rooted in the ancient yogic science of Pranayama — the art of conscious breathing — this practice invites you to slow down, release tension, and realign with your natural rhythm.
The ancient yogis believed that the longer and steadier your breath, the longer and steadier your life. Each inhalation and exhalation expands not only your capacity to breathe but your capacity to live. Life is then measured not by years, but by the number of breaths.
Through conscious breathwork, meditation, and relaxation, Art of Pranayama helps you restore balance, regulate the nervous system, and return to a deeper connection with yourself. Each session blends traditional Pranayama and Meditation with modern mindfulness, movement, and somatic awareness, guided with empathy and care.
A key part of this practice is deep rest through Yoga Nidra — a guided meditative experience that promotes healing, better sleep, and inner peace.
As a multilingual teacher and professional voice actor, I guide my sessions in English, Spanish, and French, using the voice as an instrument of calm and connection. My voice, featured in international meditation and wellness apps, is both a tool and a companion — helping you soften into presence and rediscover your natural rhythm through sound and silence.

I’m María Castro, a multilingual Breathwork and Relaxation Teacher, professional Voice Artist, and founder of Voice Like Velvet.
Empathy is my superpower — something I discovered after years of self-exploration, travel, and life experiences that gently guided me back to myself.
For a long time, I worked in high-pressure corporate environments where I learned first-hand the challenges of stress, high performance, and constant change.
Those years gave me valuable insight into the importance of space, rest, and authenticity both in work and life.

My turning point came during a solo journey around the world. In India, I experienced my first Pranayama session — a moment of deep liberation that changed everything.
I remember thinking: why isn’t everyone breathing like this every day?
Since then, I’ve trained in breathwork and meditation across different traditions and dedicated my work to helping others reconnect with their breath, calm, and authentic rhythm.
My approach is gentle, practical, and rooted in presence — blending breath, awareness, and the healing vibration of the voice.
Sharing what I’ve learned so others can find balance and live as their most authentic selves is not just my work — it’s my calling.
